On July 22, Engr. David N. Umahi, Governor of Ebonyi State, Nigeria, along with O. Pitan, a leading bank president, visited Huawei for a tour and exchange discussions.
The two parties held talks on introducing Huawei’s advanced irrigation technology and smart agricultural equipment to Ebonyi State.
Huawei Chairman Mr. Lü Mingli provided Governor Umahi with a detailed overview of Huawei’s capabilities, flagship products, technologies, and business operations. The delegation visited China’s first irrigation museum, established by Huawei, explored the integrated farm model with water and fertilizer integration technology, and experienced the Farm Head Smart Agriculture Cloud Platform. They also toured Huawei’s product manufacturing facilities.
A Shared Vision for Agricultural Modernization
Governor Umahi expressed great interest and recognition of Huawei’s technologies and comprehensive solutions in agricultural irrigation. He introduced the current state of Ebonyi State, noting its status as an agricultural powerhouse in Nigeria, with 80% of the population engaged in farming and agricultural production ranking among the top in the country. The governor emphasized his hope to leverage Huawei’s advanced agricultural equipment and technologies to further drive the modernization of agriculture in Ebonyi State.
Mr. Lv Mingli affirmed Huawei’s commitment to supporting the “Belt and Road” Initiative, highlighting that water-saving irrigation is a technology that benefits all of humanity. He expressed Huawei’s willingness to actively explore opportunities to expand globally.
During the meeting, both parties established a communication mechanism and held preliminary discussions on collaboration models and areas of cooperation.
