The achievement of the Drip Irrigation Water-Saving Corps Science and Technology Innovation Team — "Development and Application of Key Equipment for High-Efficiency Water-Saving in Field Drip Irrigation" — has received authoritative evaluation: the overall technology is internationally advanced, and two types of key equipment are internationally leading!

On the morning of January 12, the scientific and technological achievement "Development and Application of Key Equipment for High-Efficiency Water-Saving in Field Drip Irrigation" — led by Professor Wang Zhenhua, who serves as the head of the Drip Irrigation Water-Saving Corps Science and Technology Innovation Team, Vice President of Xinjiang Agricultural University, and former Dean of the College of Water Conservancy and Architectural Engineering of Shihezi University, and jointly accomplished by Shihezi University, Xinjiang Academy of Land Reclamation and Crops Science, and Shanghai Hi-Vege-Tech Controlled Agriculture Group Co., Ltd. — underwent an authoritative evaluation organized by the Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering (CSAE) in Beijing and was highly recognized.

This evaluation meeting was held in a hybrid format combining online and offline participation. The expert evaluation panel boasted a stellar lineup, bringing together top authorities in China’s agricultural engineering and water conservancy sectors:

Professor Kang Shaozhong, Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) and Professor at China Agricultural University, served as Chair of the Evaluation Panel (online);

Professor Chen Xuegeng, Member of the CAE and Professor at Jiangsu University, and Professor Li Hongwen, Member of the CAE and Professor at China Agricultural University, acted as Vice Chairs;

Panel members included many renowned experts such as Researcher Li Jiusheng from China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, Researcher Zhang Jianghui from Xinjiang Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, Researcher Zheng Wengang from the Intelligent Equipment Technology Research Center of Beijing Academy of Agriculture and Forestry Sciences, and Researcher Wang Jiandong from the Institute of Agricultural Environment and Sustainable Development, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

After a rigorous review, the expert panel reached a unanimous conclusion: the overall technological level of this achievement has reached the international advanced standard, among which the independently developed cascade filtration equipment and high-efficiency anti-clogging drip irrigation emitters have attained the world-leading level.

This high recognition is a great encouragement and affirmation of our team’s long-term commitment to frontline scientific research and focus on meeting the national strategic demand for water conservation. It is reported that the innovation team led by Professor Wang Zhenhua has been consistently targeting the core bottlenecks in field drip irrigation systems, such as difficult clogging prevention and control, low precision in water-fertilizer-air-temperature regulation, and insufficient performance of supporting equipment. Through nine years of continuous research and development, the team has successfully developed a new type of high-efficiency emitter, sediment cascade synergistic treatment equipment, and an integrated water-fertilizer-air-temperature regulation system. A full-chain high-efficiency water-saving drip irrigation technology system covering "source sediment treatment – water-fertilizer-air-temperature coordination – precision field drip irrigation" has been established, which has effectively driven China’s core drip irrigation equipment to leap from the stage of "following others" to "leading the world".
