During the training, authoritative experts delivered a keynote report titled “Exploration and Practice of Agricultural Informatization in Shanghai.” The report highlighted the evolution of Shanghai’s agriculture in the information age, its achievements, and future development directions.
The experts emphasized that in the future, big data would play an increasingly significant role in various agricultural fields, including production, operations, and government management. “Retiring oxen, introducing tractors, farmers moving to cities, and experts managing farms—this is the vision of future farming,” noted the experts. Achieving this vision requires innovative agricultural technology enterprises like Huawei to lead agricultural production towards automation and intelligence.
Many participants expressed great interest in Huawei’s integrated irrigation systems, Farmer Cloud smart agriculture platform, greenhouse construction, and overall agricultural solutions, including farm planning and production management. They expressed a strong desire to expedite cooperation with Huawei and bring advanced agricultural irrigation technologies to their home countries.
The training program, themed “Modern Agricultural Industrial Parks and Agricultural Informatization,” included 21 participants from Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam. Representing various organizations such as the Cambodian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries; Prek Leap National College of Agriculture; Laos National Agriculture and Forestry Research Institute; Myanmar Ministry of Agriculture; Thai Ministry of Agriculture; Thai Horticultural Research Institute; and Vietnam National University of Agriculture, over half of the participants were at the director-level or above, with five holding department-level positions.
This session showcased the role of Huawei and similar enterprises in transforming agriculture through innovation, making a profound impression on attendees from the Lancang-Mekong region.
