The Parallel Forum on Controllable Agriculture, part of the "WAFI 2025 World Agrifood Innovation Conference," will be co-hosted by the World Agrifood Forum (WAFI), Huawei Agritech, and the National Digital Agriculture Industry-Education Integration Community. Scheduled for October 14, 2025, 09:00–12:20 a.m. at the Beijing Jinhaihu International Convention and Exhibition Center, the forum aims to address long-standing global agricultural challenges and explore pathways to modernize the sector through innovative models.
The forum’s core focus will be on the Agrist Controllable Agriculture (ACA) Model, a pioneering framework that integrates facility agriculture with digital technology to realize the full potential of smart agriculture. Centered on "crop well-being" and driven by "industrial prosperity," ACA unites resources from eight key sectors: government, industry, academia, research, finance, services, application, and innovation. It adopts a "systematic, industrialized" approach to planning and a "practical, operational" mindset for design, ensuring facilities are tailored to crop needs and digital tools add tangible value—bridging the gap between "cloud-based smart agriculture" and on-the-ground farming practices.
The event is set to become an "Agricultural Davos" for global agricultural stakeholders, bringing together domestic and international academicians, experts, professors, and government officials. It will serve as a high-level dialogue platform spanning the eight aforementioned sectors, fostering in-depth exchanges between leading researchers and global think tanks, and facilitating collaboration between global agricultural technology resources and Chinese enterprises in the controllable agriculture chain. This synergy is expected to inject much-needed certainty into China’s agricultural modernization drive, while offering insights for addressing global agricultural sustainability.
